Rupa Ramanathan

Rupa Ramanathan has been learning carnatic music for the past 14 years. She is currently learning from Smt Kasthuri Shivakumar and Vidwan Shri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan. She has performed her music Arangetram in 2014, and continues to give performances throughout North America/India. In her free time she enjoys teaching music. In addition to vocal music, Rupa also plays western violin. She was the concert master of the Plymouth Canton Symphony Orchestra, and also played in the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra. She has won several accolades in competitions and has given many solo recitals around the world. She has worked closely with Maestro Chitravina Ravikiran on Melharmonic projects. She has an undergraduate degree in Public Health and bioengineering. She intends to pursue her passion in both academics and music.
